Selcouth: "Unfamiliar, rare, strange and yet marvelous."

I chose the word "selcouth" as the title of my first blog. My reasoning behind it?

Well, if I had to describe myself in one word.... this would be it. I am a firm believer in the power of change and unfamiliarity and the priceless worth of expanding our knowledge of the unknown. Who knows what marvelous gems there might be hidden if we only dared to search for them.

I'm Emma. An authentic soon to be 17-year-old on a journey to create a life I can only currently dream of. And what better way of doing it, than sharing all the knowledge and experiences I collect along the way with you.

My vision for this blog is to create a space where I can share not only about the journey I am on and what it will teach me, but also about my struggles, solutions, victories and blissful moments. I hope to create a archive of relatable, inspirational and helpful articles, something different... something marvelous.

As Greg Anderson said: "Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it."

I hope that by celebrating every small step, every small victory, I too will realize the importance of the journey.
