"Are you alive
or just existing?" ~Olivia Ruby
I was watching a TEDx talk yesterday, and to explain one of his arguments, the speaker called an audience member to the stage. In an attempt to showcase how to start a conversation without the boring "so how are you" he asked one question- "What is it that motivates you to get up in the morning?"
And this got me thinking...
How many of us are just living our lives on auto pilot. We do the same things every day- never really stopping to question ourselves why. We spend endless hours scrolling social media or doing things we don't even enjoy just because it's our norm.
Are we so rooted in our own toxic patterns that we fail to even change the habits that harm us?
Think about it- how many hours of your day are set aside for doing the things that make you feel alive? How many of your habits are actually there because they help you thrive?
Maybe they were right when they said that our happiness can be found in the power of our daily routines. The little things that make us feel alive.
As it is said, "You were never meant to live an ordinary life and simply be happy- you are here to live with wild passion, restless love, inexpressible joy and extraordinary dreams."
