"She was one of the rare ones,
so effortlessly herself,
and the world loved her for it."
-Atticus
Who doesn't dream of being the main character? Of being the center of attention- pretty and smart? I, for one, certainly do.
I've always wondered what makes a person attractive? I always thought it was their looks, or their marks or even their amount of followers. But as I started paying more attention to those society deemed as "attractive" or "worth knowing", I noticed that those factors were only a mere drop in the bucket.
Firstly- I noticed that it really is true that people love those who are unapologetically themselves. People who doesn't care if their taken up as weird or different.
Being someone your not won't get you anywhere. Instead your fakeness will only scare people away. By being yourself, and being confident in your abilities, you automatically make others more comfortable around you. It also shows people that you have confidence, a huge plus if you want to stand out.
Secondly, I noticed that people love those who aren't afraid of hard work and getting involved. Knowledge is attractive, and learning new skills or even just trying lots of new things, can get you far in life. People also love those who aren't afraid to fail, but turn up regardless of their fate.
Lastly, I noticed that, contrary to popular believe, people gravitate to those who show genuine interest. Pretending to be the "couldn't care less" person will only put you in a bad light from the start. Gratitude and a simple genuine smile are really two of the most attractive things.
Be yourself, get out there and be kind! :)
