"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" - Leonardo da Vinci
I'm starting to realize that I am in essence very different from my peers. I used to fight it, trying to enjoy the taste of the life I would get now and then. But at the same time I wanted nothing more than to just disappear and go back to my so called "plain life". My safe life. The life I actually enjoyed.
I think I was so desperate to feel like I fit in. Like I was just like everybody else and didn't have to be taken up as different.
Lately I began to realize that I was starting to lean towards the silence of life. I craved the calmness of it. The clearness of my thoughts. God's thoughts. I want to break free from the ever present noise and stereotypes that this world tries to force on us.
There is no mold I have to fit into. There is only one I am meant to break out of.
I am tired of the rush, the constant lies that more is better and loud is happy. I do realize that for some that is the life they want. The life they enjoy. In my case, I experience happiness in the calmness, beauty in the simplicity of nature and believe that less really is more.
Maybe that is what makes me so different from them. But where they mistake me for a fragile and overly protected girl, I see a strong woman, fearless in her silence, happy with herself.
I am starting to embrace my differences, take pride in my own way of life, find happiness from within myself and now realize that simplicity truly is the greatest form of sophistication.
